FX/EF Super Glide Fat Bob®
On this page I collect Harley-Davidson Super Glide pictures and provide some background information about the various FX Super Glide models. It is 1971. Willie G. Davidson feels like creating a different motorcycle. He notices that with stadard bikes customers are looking for style and are less interested in power. And then the FX Super Glide is introduced. An epoch-making motorcycle, the first factory custom. Three decades later, that first Super Glide forms the heart and soul of todays Dyna Glide. A long low custom style. A powerful engine in rubber mount. The FX was introduced for the model year 1971. The letters FX come from FLH and XLH: an FLH frame and engine combined with an XLBH fork and front wheel formed the Super Glide.

FXDi In the year 2006, Harley-Davidson Motor Company celabrates the 35th Anniversary of the Super Glide with a limited (3500 copies) edition of the first manufacturer built custom bike ever. Although the FXDi Dyna™ 35th Anniversary Super Glide resembles the original Super Glide from 1971, many design changes have been applied to the 2006 Dyna™ range. A new 6-gear "Cruise Drive" transmission has been mounted, the clutch has been re-designed and the Twin Cam 88 engine has been improved. 35th Anniversary of the Harley-Davidson Super Glide!
